Origins 
He/she is also known as the dog Kooiker or dog Duckdecoy. Their Dutch name means “belonging to the Kooiker”, the person in charge of the lures for the ducks. It is a quite old race, it would originate of Holland whose work was to take out the ducks of its hiding places entering and leaving the rushes or low canes that formed barrier in the banks of the dikes, covered in turn with nets. When the ducks investigated, he/she closed the dike. From the second world war, efforts have been made to improve it, and he/she has been introduced recently in the United Kingdom. Character and cares 
The Kooikerhondje is intelligent and affectionate, vivacious but not too excitable. Good partner is, besides a governable size to be animal of company. He/she needs a lot of exercise and a daily brushing.
