Origins 
The Tibetan Terrier is not in fact a Terrier, its history doesn't tell us that he/she entered in burrows, it seems an Old rather English Sheepdog and as the other small Tibetan dogs, the Tibetan Spaniel and the Lhasa Apso, doesn't exist evidence that it has been raised with another purpose that that of company dog. Of an old lineage, it is said that it has been raised in the monasteries of the area, the copies of this race used to present to the travelers as mascots and it was said that they brought luck. The race was included in the registration of the Association of Tibetan Races in 1934 and now he/she has its own standard. It continues without being very popular in Great Britain and he/she still knows less it to him in America, that which can be an advantage, since many races have been ruined to be too popular. 
Character and taken care   
The Tibetan Terrier can prove to be the animal of ideal company for those that admire the Old English Sheedog but they don't have place for such a big animal. To this small dog, beautiful and hairy, it is worthwhile to choose it, also, for itself. It is loyal strong, a good walkway, and very faithful to their owner and the children, but a little distrustful with the strangers. Their long mantel needs a constant attention.
