Origins 
The Springer Welsh Spaniel or their predecessor, it is mentioned in the oldest registrations in the Laws of Wales, dated around 1300. It is also possible that these red Spaniels and targets are a crossing between the English Springer and the Clumber. Certainly, he/she has had among their ancestors to the Brittany, since both are similar in their abilities like hunt dogs and in their constitution, although the Welsh Springer has the longest paws and the slightest bones. In Great Britain it was exhibited as Welsh Cocker before 1902, when it was recognized by the Canine Society. In the last 20 years it has been exported to U.S and other parts of the world. 
Character and taken care   
This loyalist and hard-working hunt dog is in some place among the Cocker “happy” and the Springer English Spaniel as for his size. He/she is a good swimmer, he/she has excellent olfaction, and it combines the paper of company animal with that of hunter's partner whenever their exercise necessities are completed. He/she needs a daily brushing and to check regularly that he doesn't have left mud incrusted in its paws or ears.
