Origins 
The German Spaniel, Dog quail or Deutscher Wachtelhund you creó around 1890 in Germany. Their breeders used several European hunt dogs of long hair, including penos of water, the resultant has a marked resemblance with the English Springer and with the German Pointer of long hair, although he/she doesn't have the paws so long. The old German hunt dog, the Stober, can, also, to have contributed to develop the great olfaction of this species. The long mantel of the Wachtelhund protects it in the thick forests, where he/she gets up and it charges partridges and other birds, he/she is also used to hunt fox and hare. This enthusiast hard-working and good swimmer is appreciated by the forest ones and German hunters, and she is known very little outside of her origin country. 
Character and cares 
This dog of hunt of any modality has a strong constitution and a temperament of trust. He/she is an excellent partner for the hunt but German cough they say that it should only be in hunters' hands. He/she needs a lot of exercise, a daily brushing and to check regularly that he/she doesn't have mud incrusted in their ears or feet.
