Origins 
This is one of the six varieties of grateful Coonhound for the United Kennel Club of America (UKC), the other ones are the black and toasted, English, Bluetick, Treeing Walker and Plott. Most descends of Foxhounds. However, other Hounds also participated in their development and, in common with the black and toasted, the Redbone looks like each other more to an English Bloodhound than to a Foxhound. As he/she suggests their name, the Coonhounds they were raised to hunt raccoons, a hunt that exists for all USA except Alaska and Hawai, and he/she is also found in the forests of the Canada. As the raccoon it is night, he/she is hunted at night. The Redbone has an excellent olfaction and a great ability for tazar. He/she adapts well to work in different lands. Besides being popular in EE. UU, we can also find it in central America and of the south, and in Japan. 
Character and cares 
The Redbone Coonhound is an efficient and beautiful work dog, faithful to its owner and generally of good temperament. He/she needs a lot of exercise and it is cleaned with a mitten for dogs.
