Origins 
The Basset Artésien Normand, is a race of European hunt that gave place to the Basset Houndun. It is descending of the hound of short paws that were native of the regions of Artois and Normandía in the north of France. The experts in Hounds, George Jhonston and María Ericson informs that there were dwarf versions of the bicolor Artois and of the tri-colored one Norman, and that they were crossed, becoming with the time the dog that we know at the moment as Basset Artésien Normand. He/she was given their name current en1911. The Basset Artésien Normand is of long body, its longitude exceeds to its height that allows him to work better in thick overgrowth. It is or bicolor orange and white, or tri-colored, white with toasted head, and black in the back and extremities. It is used to hunt rabbits and other small pieces and he/she has good followers for all Europe but it is not very well-known in the United Kingdom. 
Character and cares 
The Basset Artésien Normand retains a strong hunter instinct and it still fulfills its traditional paper in its homeland. It is not adapted as domestic company animal.
