Origins
The Ariégeois is native of Ariége a French county in the frontier with Spain. It is the result of the crossing among the native Hounds of half, Gascon size Santongeois and Gascony Blue. While it is not a very quick Hound, yes he/she has A considerable resistance and a good olfaction; intelligent and good worker and it has hunted hares during the whole century. A standard was traced by the Gaston Phoebus Club formed in 1908 with the purpose of supporting the reproduction selective point of the Ariégeois like of the French Setter.
Character and taken care
It is a Hound of fine constitution, calm disposition, friendly expression and on the whole a very pleasant animal. As all the hound he/she needs a lot of exercise and their short mantel requires few attentions.
